TVP is an extremely easy meat substitute that is quick to cook. Simply soak briefly and toss into a stir-fry, casserole, soup, … FREE FROM S and ADDITIVES. This semi-deted, textured soy protein of high biological value, is manufactured by heat-treating soybeans, the beans are free from genetically modified organisms (NON-GMO). The production process is purely mechanical; therefore “Hoosier Hill Farm” textured vegetable (soy) protein is free from additives. VEGAN - VEGETARIAN. HIGH PROTEIN - LOW - LOW CARB. NO . HOW TO USE. Because of the high protein content, the look and feel (bite) it is mainly used as meat substitute. TVP has little to no flavor of its own, it does absorb the natural juices and flavors of the other ingredients during cooking and frying. (1) Rehydrate your TVP by adding 1 cup of TVP to 1 cup of hot or boiling liquid (water or broth). Or simply let it soak in warm water for 5 to 10 minutes until the TVP has expanded and looks fluffy (let it soak up most or all of the liquid). Once rehydrated, keep refrigerated for up to a few days, and overall treat like meat.
